SmartLabs Announces Hybrid STBs for Interactive Television
SmartLabs, a leader in the development of solutions for interactive digital television, has today announced the release of new hybrid Set-Top Boxes (DVB + IP) designed to enable interactive digital broadcast for cable operators.
Online, February 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Having entered the market in mid 2010, IPTV Set-Top Boxes from SmartLabs have got many favorable responses from experts and market players. This allowed SmartLabs to make large supplies of STBs to its customers, including MTS, Rostelecom, MTT and others.
Leveraging on its time-tested expertise and modern trends on the digital television market, SmartLabs has developed and is now offering new hybrid STBs (DVB + IP) for digital TV operators. The basic benefits of the new STBs include optimum price/functionality ratio, modular architecture, support for different types of content protection solutions, and a superb STB design developed in collaboration with Art Lebedev Studio.
Models of Hybrid Set-Top Boxes:
- SML-303I Hybrid - a hybrid STB supporting pluggable DVB modules.
- SML-303C Hybrid - a hybrid STB with IPTV+DVB/CT support
- SML-303S Hybrid - a hybrid STB with IPTV+DVB/S support
All the new models support HD and 3D content playback. Also, they can be supplied with a SATA 2,5" hard disk drive up to 1TB. With a hard drive, subscribers can gain access to Value Added Services (Local PVR, PushVoD, Pause LiveTV), store and play back their own content. In addition, STB has a slot to install a CAM module to support the CAS card system and a slot for an external DVB module (DVB-C/T or DVB-S). On request, STBs can be fitted with additional USB connectors, microphone inputs, etc. Also, the new STBs have a built-in Wi-Fi module and can support an external USB Wi-Fi module.
