Smashing Golf & Tennis Announces Partnership with PGA Tour Wives Association
Online, January 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Smashing Golf & Tennis, the only golf and tennis brand that tones and slims, announced it will be donating 10% of their first quarter sales to the PGA Tour Wives Association which supports many national charities.
Smashing Golf & Tennis continues with its corporate initiative of giving back, by selecting the PTWA for its charity for the first quarter.
"Giving back is part of our corporate philosophy, "said Managing Partner Kelly Daugherty, "While it seems counterintuitive that a new company would be choosing to give more money away, we believe it is core to who we are as people."
Forming a partnership with the PTWA started when the current president, Amy Wilson, bought some Smashing golf apparel. Instantly a fan of the brand, she offered her assistance in helping the company form the current partnership.
"We couldn't be more excited about this partnership, " said Managing Partner Jayne Drew, "Amy has been incredibly helpful and excited in looking for ways to help us extend our brand name."
Amy Wilson is the wife of Mark Wilson, winner of the Sony Open in 2011. They are returning to Hawaii for both the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, January 5th-January 9th and for the Sony Open, January 9th through January 15th. Amy will be sporting Smashing apparel while there.
Smashing Golf & Tennis features an inner layer of compression fabric that works to not only tone, shape and slim a woman's body, but it also helps to enhance performance by keeping key muscles warm.
"The word compression is used a lot in the industry," said Jayne Drew," but most of the time they are just referring to the spandex in their products. We have a technical fabric that provides physical and performance results."
Two Chicago women, Kelly Daugherty & Jayne Drew, are the co-founders of Smashing and launched the line after noticing a void in the marketplace.
"We wanted to introduce a brand that was flattering for all body shapes and sizes," said Kelly Daugherty. "Women want to look good. When they look good, they feel good. And when they feel good, they play better."
In addition to Smashing's innovative technical fabrics, they also stress that their products are all made in the USA and with US-milled fabrics.
"Made in the USA has been important to many of our customers, " said Jayne Drew, "Our fan mail often thanks us for keeping jobs here in the US."
Smashing has received many accolades from the press during its Midwest launch in 2011, including a feature in Golf Digest, Shape Magazine, More Magazine and WBBM/CBS.
