Smith's seeks parliamentary approval

Smith's seeks parliamentary approval - Energy efficiency and green manufacturing discussed with local MP

As part of an ongoing commitment to raise awareness for energy efficiency and green manufacturing, Smith's Environmental Products, the leading supplier of domestic and light commercial fan convectors in the UK, invited Mark Francois MP to its factory in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.

Speaking about the visit, Jim Bennett, Sales & Marketing Director at Smith's, commented: "We were delighted to meet Mr. Francois and discuss how we might work together to raise awareness of the energy efficiency of fan convectors. We're hopeful that this will enable us to communicate our green credentials and facilitate a greater understanding and appreciation of fan convector technology."

Mr Francois was given a tour of the factory, witnessing the green manufacturing facilities first hand, and received a presentation outlining Smith's environmental credentials and the basic principles of fan convector technology.

In addition to discussing the importance of Government funding for investment in UK manufacturing, product development and marketing, Smith's also explained how BSRIA research has proven fan convectors to be 24% more efficient than a standard panel radiator - a figure that increases to 31% when running from renewable technologies.*

All Smith's fan convectors use only 5% of the water required for an equivalent output radiator. This low water content means it heats up faster and responds quickly to changing heating requirements, dictated by fluctuating environmental changes, making it a more efficient and cost effective heating solution.
