Snowline Hospice Asks for Letter Writers Worldwide

Snowline’s Sunshine Letter Program has one purpose: to help spread joy and cheer in the lives of patients. Snowline is calling on people worldwide to write letters to patients. The letter-writing program was conceived in March of 2020 to reduce feelings of isolation for both hospice patients and their families. Since 1979, Snowline has been a mission-driven, community-based non-profit, offering patient-centered care with compassion and dignity. We are dedicated to serving our community by enhancing the lives of those with chronic, serious illness, and patients nearing end-of-life. The Sunshine Letter Program delivers individual letters to patients’ mailboxes. Every letter received by one of our patients is written by people just like you. Sunshine Letters exemplifies our patient-centered mission with that same compassion and dignity: one letter at a time. Snowline Patients have expressed sincere gratitude that someone would take the time to write to them and that receiving a letter has given them hope.

After receiving letters from across the United States of America, Snowline is calling upon people across the globe to join the cause. Snowline hopes the opportunity will encourage connections across generations, races, nationalities, and borders. Your emailed letter will be sent to our patients with that same purpose: to spread joy and cheer.

“The Sunshine Letter Initiative helps us create meaning-making in our lives during COVID 19 by helping our most isolated feel connected to what is most important. A family member on hospice recently shared how much the Sunshine Letters her mother receives mean so much and bring such immediate joy. What a gift!”-Chaplain Cynthia Davis

So, open your email and start typing away. Please share what you are doing with those you know across the globe. Spread the word on social media. Your letters will bring smiles to the faces of those who need it most. Please email your letters to [email protected].
