So You Think You Can Dance Finalist Romina D'Ugo To Star In Bravo!FACT Short Film Minus Lara

Golden Sheaf award winning director Rob King to helm Canadian Short Screenplay Competition 2nd place script Minus Lara written by Surita Parmar in Regina, Canada.

Romina D'Ugo (TURN THE BEAT AROUND, DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION) stars alongside David Cormican (LULLABY FOR PI, DROP BOX) in the Surita Parmar written short film script which placed 2nd in the 2009/10 Canadian Short Screenplay Competition.

The film is being produced for Bravo!FACT, a foundation to assist Canadian talent, the Canadian Short Screenplay Competition and Year of the Skunk Productions. David Cormican will produce alongside Associate Producer Dillon Andrews.

Parmar's script is the story of a teenage girl, Lara (Romina D'Ugo), who, while browsing a department store, comes across a seemingly magical synthesizer and is transported to a fantasy world filled with romance, dancing and danger with a store clerk (David Cormican). MINUS LARA is being supported through the Bravo!FACT foundation and will air on Bravo! channel in 2011.

Choreography is being provided by Johanna Bundon. Shawn Fulton is the director of photography. Gemini winner, Brenda Shenher is Designing Costumes. Music is being composed by Juno nominee Doug Romanow.

Principal photography will take place November 25 and 26, 2010 in Regina, Canada at the Saskatchewan Provincial Legistlature and Classic Antiques.

The film is being produced with the financial assistance of Bravo!FACT, Saskatchewan Film Employment Tax Credit and Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit.
