SOBCon 2010: The Conference Where The Virtual Meets The Concrete
Weekend features discussion of strategies and tactics focused on merging your online and offline worlds into a successful business
Online, February 16, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Chicago - Liz Strauss and Terry Starbucker are again teaming up to bring SOBCon 2010 to Chicago April 30 through May 2.
SOBCon (which stands for Successful Online Business) is the think tank conference of the social web, where the best minds in both Internet and business gather to present models, discuss insights and determine best practices.
This year's conference will feature a modified presentation format from past years. Each presenter will be followed by an expert panel from varying disciplines to further expand the topic with attendees.
"Imagine a weekend in an executive space working on your business strategies with a mastermind team and 150 of the best minds on hand to advise -- that's what SOBCon is," said Strauss, who will launch SOBCon 2010 with a presentation entitled Where Virtual Business Strategy Meets Concrete Community. "Relationships made in SOBCon teams go deeper than trading business cards -- people walk away saying 'I worked with them.' Partnerships and business are born that weekend," she added.

Co-founder, Terry Starbucker agreed. "The event is really an extended and inclusive business social network that works together online and off through the year." He pointed that "One presentation, A Brand is Born by Sheila Scarborough and Becky McCray will be a case study of the launch of their new business, Tourism Currents, which started as a conversation and a Venn Diagram at SOBCon08."
SOBCon 2010's line-up consists of a mix of business leaders and interactive media masterminds, including Ann Carlsen, CEO, Carlsen Resources, Inc.; Hank Wasiak, author, Owner at The Concept Farm; Amber Naslund, director of community for Radian6; Ted Murphy, CEO at IZEA; Chris Brogan, president, New Marketing Labs and many more (a complete program and list of speakers and panelists is at www.sobevent.com/program-2010).
Strauss and Starbucker founded SOBCon in 2007. Now entering its fourth year, participants will again have the opportunity to review the changing landscapes of media, identify valid strategies, discuss and develop tactics, report case studies and share actionable business ideas with interactive mastermind teams.
SOBCon 2010 will be held at the Summit Executive Center (205 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago) April 30 through May 2.
