SOFX to Improve Market Data Services for Clients

Online, January 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - SOFX announced recently new initiatives to add to its market data services. These new services will provide greater access to real-time market prices for the investors, faster market data and a simpler licensing regime for information vendors. The cost of these new services will be subject for approval.

Commenting on the initiatives, Benjamin Wonha, SOFX Head of Market Data Derivatives said, "Over the past few years, the industry has evolved, and so has the demand for market data. It has become obvious that we can no longer satisfy all the different investors' needs with a single product or just a few of them. Diversifying in terms of products and types of service we offer is the key if we want to offer the best solutions for our investors.

"We expect implementation of these new initiatives will have no impact on SOFX sales in the near future."

Following a review of a Pilot Programme in which SOFX has been providing a Free Prices Website Service since October 2011, SOFX has decided to open up the service and allow more service providers to participate beginning 1 April 2012.

The prices program was aimed at enhancing transparency of SOFX futures market and raising SOFX profile in the country and in East Asia. In this year, the program provided a large jump on derivatives quotes to the investing public in the country, a large increase since the launch of the program. Over half a million users use the service on a daily basis.

Given the overwhelming interest in the service and in order to broaden access to real-time market prices for the investing public, SOFX has decided to re-package the service as the basic market price service and make it available for a unified subscription rate for all SOFX licensed data information vendors.
