Some Assembly Required: New Video Series from ENGINEERING.com
Online, June 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Toronto - ENGINEERING.com [TSXV: EGN] today announced a new video series, "Some Assembly Required". The series showcases exciting home engineering projects and offers a 3D step-by-step instruction set so that viewers can build the same projects at home.
In the first episode, Torben Ruddock builds a hovercraft he can ride using just plywood, a lawn chair and a shower curtain. Power is provided by a leaf blower. This works surprisingly well and makes for great engineering entertainment. Torben takes viewers from the work-shop to a test drive in four action-packed minutes.
"We aim to celebrate great engineering in an informative and engaging way," said John Hayes, President of ENGINEERING.com. "Video is proving to be the "go to" medium for telling engineering stories."
The hovercraft video is the first in a series of home engineering project videos produced by ENGINEERING.com and sponsored by Autodesk Inventor Publisher. Every episode of the series will include free step-by-step interactive instructions so that viewers can build the engineering device at home. Viewers can also access the 3D instruction set on mobile devices including iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, by downloading the free Inventor Publisher Mobile Viewer App. The Inventor Publisher Mobile Viewer App delivers interactive instructions to visually explain ideas, designs, and products.
