Sony's Crackle Streams Free Ad-Supported Video to PS3, Roku, Bravia Products and Blu-ray Players

Sony Pictures Entertainment's Crackle online video platform is expanding its service on several Sony products.

Crackle video network, Sony Pictures Entertainment's ad-supported, free-to-play video service, is now available on PlayStation 3 consoles, Roku boxes, internet -enabled Sony Bravia HDTVs and Sony Blu-ray player. It's offering the viewers free, full-length features and TV series supported by ads.

"Crackle is the best single source of ad-supported Hollywood films and television series on the Internet," said Eric Berger, SVP of digital networks for Sony Pictures Television. "By making our extensive collection of content available on these platforms, we're bringing an unparalleled viewing experience directly to consumers through their Internet-enabled devices."

Previously, users had access only to a small portion of Crackle content on these devices. So, in short this is a golden opportunity for the owners of PlayStation 3, Blu-ray players like Sony BDP-S370 (it's got the best Blu- ray player reviews) or Sony HDTVs, after all who doesn't love watching movies in free ?

Crackle is also available on Google TV devices.

Current and upcoming film titles include The Da Vinci Code, Ghostbusters, Big Daddy, Eight Millimeter, Ultraviolet and A Few Good Men. In addition to these movies, Crackle has plans to add 20 new movies from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Classics each month.
