Online, March 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Mid-Hudson Valley, NY: On June 2-5, five of America's foremost experts in the art and science of sound healing will join together to lead a Sound Healing Retreat Intensive. This four-day immersion program is ideal for experienced sound healing professionals, holistic practitioners who wish to introduce sound healing in their practices, and those who seek personal transformation through the miracle of sound.

The internationally renowned faculty includes Dr. John Beaulieu, Dr. Zacciah Blackburn, Peter Blum, Rich Goodhart, and Philippe Garnier. This intensive retreat experience also features special performances by gong master Nigol Koulajian and healer Grandmother Barbara Threecrow. The 2011 Sound Healing Retreat Intensive will be held at Menla House Retreat Center, located in Phonecia, NY, 20 minutes from Woodstock.

A certification of completion, signed by all retreat faculty members, will be awarded to participants who complete this training in sound healing. The course will be of specific interest to naturopathic and osteopathic doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and other professionals in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. The program will include instruction on how to structure and conduct a Healing Sound Session with a client, providing insight into how to recalibrate and realign the energy centers of the body through the use of sound.

Zacciah Blackburn, PhD, will talk about sound as a gateway to consciousness and about the specific nature and usage of therapeutic instruments. Peter Blum will concentrate on rhythm meditations as well as the power of the human voice; he will introduce singers and non-singers alike to "Magical Voice" or overtone singing (the production of two or three notes simultaneously). The transformative potential of sound will be the focus of Rich Goodhart's talk as he shares meditational techniques that can be utilized throughout one's life and healing practice. Event organizer Philippe Garnier will discuss the role of resonance and cymantics and will reveal the physical and spiritual effects of sound.
