Southcoast Smiles To Provide Free Dentistry On September 22
Online, August 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - On Saturday, September 22, Dr. David Ahearn, his colleagues and other volunteers will provide complimentary dental care to local residents at the Fifth Annual Dentistry From The Heart event. The event is in conjunction with Dentistry From the Heart, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those in need.
Dentistry From The Heart will take place at Dr. Ahearn's Seekonk location, Southcoast Smiles, at 185 Highland Avenue Seekonk, MA from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Registration will begin at 7:30 AM.
Adults in need of dental work are urged to stop by Southcoast Smiles, located near Panera Bread, where hygienists will provide cleanings, and doctors will be performing fillings and extractions, all free of charge. Participation is on a first come, first served basis. Those in need of care are advised to arrive early to register.
Last year's event was highly successful, with more than 150 people being treated. Those who attended came from local communities, including Providence, Fall River, New Bedford and Dartmouth, among others. One couple even drove down from Maine to take advantage of the free dental care.
Dr. Ahearn says of the event, "My staff and I look forward to this event every year, because we know there are many people out there who simply can't afford dental care at this time. Last year we donated over $35,000 of treatment to those in need. It's such a great feeling to be able to give back to our community in this way."
