Sparta Florist and Gifts Announces New Location Grand Opening

Online, October 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - SPARTA, NC-Sparta Florist and Gifts will hold a grand opening for their new location on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The new store, which is a relocation of an existing store, is located at 151 South Main Street in Sparta.

Sparta Florist and Gifts owner John and Janet Goudreau have owned the florist for three years. "The business itself has been around since 1955, which makes it the oldest florist shop in Alleghany County," says owner John Goudreau. "We fell in love with the community on a drive through the mountains during a vacation, and we've been here ever since."

Sparta Florist and Gifts is a full-service florist offering arrangements for funerals, weddings, and special occasions. They also offer unique gifts such as Yankee Candles and log cabin home decor items. With the new move, Sparta Florist has been able to expand its line of Willow Tree products, which are original, hand-crafted figurines by sculptor Susan Lordi. The shop also works through a nationwide network of florists, such as Teleflora, Bloomnet, Flower Shop, and FTD. These networks give them the ability to send flowers across the country and provide same-day flower delivery.

When asked what makes Sparta Florist and Gifts special, Goudreau said, "It comes down to customized service. We make really unique designs for our customers that are nontraditional." Goudreau explained that they can work with any budget. "We really try to treat each customer as somebody special no matter their budget."

At the grand opening, customers can enjoy food and drinks along with a chance to win an original hand-carved Christmas Story nativity set by Susan Lordi of Willow Tree.
