Online, February 23, 2012 (Newswire.com) - UK campaign group Campaign Against Corruption is out on a cause
London UK: Campaign against Corruption UK (CAC UK) is an independent organisation seeking to highlight corruption in the UK's Public Services.
CAC UK is campaigning to fight corruption in Police departments across Britain. Police corruption has come to the forefront following the whole News of the World incident wherein the true extent of corruption was a shocking revelation. Confidence in our Police is at an all time low. The Leveson Enquiry, Operation Elveden, Operation Weeting, Operation Tuleta, in order to restore the public's confidence, it is critical that these enquiries identify and proactively deal with the problem, rather than the submissive tolerance which has so far been apparent.
The organisation has started an online petition that invites individuals around the country to unite in the voice against corruption. The goal of the petition is to raise public awareness on an investigation being conducted by the Metropolitan Police Service's Directorate of Professional Standards (MPS) and being overseen by the IPCC. The investigation was initiated following information that was forwarded to the Evening Standard. The dossier contains documentation showing explicit payments to serving Scotland Yard Detectives in return for sensitive case information.

The IPCC is unable to disclose any further information until conclusion of the investigation.
Given the compelling evidence in its possession, the findings will no doubt highlight the effectiveness of the IPCC, the MPS and the investigation process. With such little transparency, it is important that the true facts about this case come out. The signatures will be submitted to the Prime Minister, The IPCC, The Metropolitan Police Service's Directorate of Professional Standards and other key public departments who are in a position to change the process by which complaints relating to police corruption and abuse of powers are handled. To bring about transparency, accountability and ultimately to fight corruption in our Police Forces.
Support Campaign against Corruption for a united voice against corruption, stand up, step up so that the authorities can no longer be complacent and ignore the issue.
