Speaker and Political Commentator, Roy Paul Makes His Debut
Roy Paul is living proof that a young person can have a positive impact in his community. He is taking the political world by storm as both a speaker and an emerging youth political commentator.
Online, June 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Roy Paul's diverse background and effective advocacy goes beyond the needs of his peers as he has taken an active interest in the community. Paul was elected to the Middletown, NY Board of Education while he was still in college, making him the youngest African American to hold this office in the state. He was also elected to the Board of Directors for the Regional Economic Community Action Program (RECAP), an organization committed to changing the lives of local residents, through programs including Head Start, Supportive Housing, Employment and Training, and first-time home ownership programs. Serving on the advisory board of the Orange County Youth Bureau, Paul is the youngest person to spearhead a community effort to resurrect a chapter of the NAACP.
In 2006, Paul hosted "Up Close and Personal," a local TV interview program, featuring prominent local officials in his continuing quest to inform the community. Paul has taken his studies outside the classroom, working as an intern for NY Congressman Maurice Hinchey on constituent matters and local level political issues with an emphasis on youth culture.
Paul is becoming a leading voice among younger generations as he regularly speaks to students and people in their twenties and thirties on how they can get involved in their communities, current education issues, the advancement of African Americans and the influences that pop-culture has made on our society. Now at age 23, Paul is branching out as a political youth commentator to demonstrate that young people have opinions when it comes to current affairs and urge them to get involved.
Paul is among one of the youngest speakers and political commentators of our time.
