Online, June 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - DALLAS (May 17, 2010) - SPEED FC (SPEED), a leading provider of end-to-end e-commerce services, today announced it has signed an agreement with Dematic Corporation (Dematic) to design and install new automated material handling systems, including a new Packing Loop Conveyor and Shipping Sorter, in its Columbus, Ohio, fulfillment center.
SPEED has made this significant investment in automation equipment to improve efficiency and increase capacity within the same space now utilized, helping to maintain SPEED's position as a cost competitive, high performing provider. Year to date, the fulfillment center is handling approximately 70% more orders than this time last year. The installation of the Packing Loop Conveyor and Shipping Sorter is expected to further increase SPEED's fulfillment capacity in order to be well prepared for peak order periods, such as the August "back-to-school" and holiday shopping seasons, as well as for future growth opportunities.
