Spreading Free Smiles Across Seekonk
Online, August 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Seekonk, MA - Dr. David Ahearn will host his 4th annual Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) event - providing a free day of dental care to at least 150 residents.
The line will begin as early as the night before, with hundreds prepared to camp out in order to receive free services. Dentistry From The Heart patients are anticipated to travel from across Massachusetts every year to Dr. Ahearn's dental practice for the annual free day of dentistry, happening on September 17, 2011.
In 2001, Dentistry From The Heart started with New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent Monticciolo as a way to giving back to the community and provide aid to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. Since its inception, Dentistry From The Heart has grown to include over 200 annual events nationwide and provided more than 60,000 people with free dental care services.
Annually, Dr. Ahearn and his team of dentists, volunteers and sponsors provide the first 150 patients with a free extraction, filling or cleaning. This is the 4th annual event for Dr. Ahearn, last years event helped over 150 people and provided over $ 36,000 in free dental care to the community.
"Our staff here at Southcoast Smiles always looks forward to being able to give back to our community," said Dr. Ahearn. "last year we had about 250 people show up, some as early as 5 am, one couple even drove down from Maine to receive free care. To know that my staff and I are bringing that much relief to people warms my heart and that's what drives me to continue to hold these Dentistry From The Heart events."
