Spring Clean with Goodwill Central Texas's "Weigh Good" Community Donation Drive
Goodwill Industries of Central Texas's Weigh Good Community Donation Drive is an environmentally-friendly way for Central Texans to donate their spring cleaning goods, while helping to fund job programs.
Online, April 6, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Goodwill is inviting the Central Texas community to "drop the pounds" of gently used clothing, house wares, computers, books and more at their local Goodwill during its annual Weigh Good community donation drive. The community can bring their donations to any Goodwill location throughout Central Texas from Thursday, April 15 - Sunday, April 18 and enter for a chance to win a California Closets system valued up to $5,000!
This 4-day long, community-powered campaign, which runs the weekend before Earth Day, is an easy and environmentally-friendly way for Central Texans to recycle gently used items while giving back to the community. This drive directly serves the Goodwill mission with the funds generated from selling the donations in
its retail stores. These funds translate into job training and services for youth and adults with barriers to employment.
Goodwill's goal is to collect 725,000 pounds of donations, which will generate enough funds to help 42 Central Texans find jobs in the community.
