Spring Serenade: Songs of Nature, Joy and Renewal

Sunday, March 7,2010 at 3PM, Jennifer Paschal,soprano, joins pianist Andrew Kraus, in Spring Serenade: Songs of Nature, Joy, and Renewal, a Virginia Tull Music and Arts Series Recital at Wake Forest Baptist Church, Wake Forest, NC.

Wake Forest,NC,Feb 22, 2010 - "Spring Serenade: Songs of Nature, Joy, and Renewal",features songs celebrating the arrival of Spring, the renewal experienced in nature, and the Lord's passion and resurrection. Come experience these beautiful, uplifting works in the American and European tradition, including, among others, Dominick Argento's cycle Songs About Spring, and "I Know that My Redeemer Liveth" from Handel's Messiah.

The Virginia Tull Series has been created to bring exceptional performing artists, music and arts events to the Wake Forest community as well as to provide a means for supporting mission efforts both locally and world-wide. Admission is free, and a Love Offering can be accepted at the door.

Jennifer Paschal, soprano, possesses a broad repertoire that includes oratorio, opera, art song, and popular genres. She recently performed the lead role of Miriam in The Book of Daniel, an opera by Richard Rose, with the Marginal Notes Concert Opera Ensemble. Her choral credits include the Emmy Award-winning Master Chorale of Washington, which has appeared at such esteemed venues as Wolf Trap, the Kennedy Center, and in televised appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra.
