Springwel Mattresses Organizes 'Lives of the Homeless'
Online, September 11, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Springwel Mattresses Pvt. Ltd.is organizing a unique photo exhibition on September 15, 2012 at Dilli Haat to highlight the trials and tribulations of the homeless and destitute in India. The photography contest will see amateur photographers presenting their art in front of renowned jury comprising of ace photographers Dinesh Khanna and Atul Loke. Both Dinesh and Atul are the flag bearers of Indian photography, through their graphic depiction of common India have taken Indian images to newer heights in the world map. Through this exhibition the plight of 11 million homeless children will be brought forth who have never known a bed other than newspapers and rags.
The photography exposition is the finale of Springwel Photography Contest which encouraged all shutterbug lovers to contribute portraits depicting the 'Lives of the Homeless'. The competition, which is a continuation of Springwel Sleep Exchange drive, is a unique initiative which was open to all for participation. The contest which was open from July 19, 2012 to August 15, 2012 saw a contribution of above 400 participants across the country. The stories of developing India battling difficulties like poverty and insufficiency have been captured in frames by each contributor. The event will interpret the lives of the homeless and drudgery of people with lesser privileges. Two winning entries will be presented with high end Nikon cameras by Dinesh Khanna and Atul Loke.
"This exhibition is a part of the 'Springwel Sleep Exchange' campaign that was been launched in July this year to help destitute homeless children have access to a comfortable sleep. The two month long national campaign encourages consumers to donate their old, worn out mattresses in the aid of millions who live in hapless and unhygienic conditions", said Harinder Singh, Marketing Director, Springwel Mattresses Pvt. As a part of this drive Springwel Mattresses Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with Mother NGO for Homeless in Delhi, Beyond Smiles foundation in Mumbai and other charitable missions across the country. The entire campaign is driven by the motive of making people turn an empathetic eye towards these unfortunate people.
