SprinkleBit Levels the Playing Field With Social On-line Trading Platform

Company to connect the best of social media with financial markets to empower people to invest

SprinkleBit, the first authentic social investing platform, today announced the launch of a major redesign of its social on-line trading platform. Pioneering community members have been trading in virtual mode since the company's inception and these updates were driven by their input. The redesign takes the user interface and experience to the next level including the incorporation of the Major League Stocktrading™ (MLST), a fantasy on-line trading league. The MLST is a gamification of stock trading intended to educate while entertaining.

"SprinkleBit was inspired by a simple idea: to make the financial markets more accessible and easier to understand for retail investors," said Alexander Wallin, CEO, SprinkleBit. "Our goal is to level the playing field. For too long, the majority have been denied access to the information and opportunities that are made available only to the 'one percent'. We are building the platform and community that will educate and inspire people to realize the benefits of investing, regardless of their prior level of investing experience. We aim to move people from being risk averse to risk aware and to go from segregation to participation. By combining social media with the financial markets in innovative ways, we're able to do just that."

The SprinkleBit virtual trading platform is a safe and entertaining place for investors to build and hone their trading skills. Members are given access to real-time market data, educational tools and other resources. Today SprinkleBit members can trade on the virtual platform, but in the coming months the company will be hosting a complete suite of financial services for the community, including secure on-line trading and crowdfunding.

The site's new design includes an updated, more intuitive user interface featuring vivid graphs; a powerful stock screener and research tools; interactive education; enhanced community features; larger data sets (to see more relevant market data); and the added ability to track and even copy other traders. The SprinkleBit platform leverages the best of social media, empowering members to share and learn within the community.

A key component of the SprinkleBit experience is access to its proprietary Voting Power Index (VPI). The VPI serves as a virtual advisor that helps guide both novice and experienced investors by crowdsourcing sentiment and forecasting the potential performance of their investments. The VPI was created through research conducted at UCSD by Wallin, who found that with the right application of crowdsourcing an investor could use the VPI to create a portfolio capable of outperforming the S&P 500 18 out of 20 quarters and pick outperforming stocks with an 87% certainty. By comparison, mutual funds, one of the most common of investment vehicles, are lucky to outperform the index. And the return is even lower once you factor in management fees.

The Major League Stock Trading fantasy league is recruiting participants now. All SprinkleBit community members may play - there is no charge for membership or to compete in the MLST tournament. Each participant will receive the same amount of fictitious money, $5000 SprinkleBucks, to invest; however, additional SprinkleBucks can be earned by participating in challenges. Portfolio performance will be tracked and the top traders will go head-to-head in the finals at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner in the World Series of Stock Trading.
