St. Catherine's Academy Wins 2013 Non-Profit of the Year Award
Online, October 31, 2013 (Newswire.com) - In celebration of the diverse achievements from Anaheim's best businesses in 2013, the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce recognizes St. Catherine's Academy as the winner of the Non-Profit of the Year Award. St. Catherine's Academy was chosen based on their goals to inspire leadership, honor, and respect as well as their stability and growth over the past three years.
St. Catherine's Academy is the oldest elementary school in Orange County, CA. Over the last three years they have increased their boarding program residents, housed students from China, Mexico, Korea, Australia and Russia, while simultaneously increasing local day student enrollment. They have increased their tuition assistance for families to help all of their students, also known as, cadets to have a well-rounded education.
St. Catherine's Academy is an integral member of the Anaheim community. Cadets are called upon to present and retire the colors at many events, including the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, Anaheim Mariachi Festival, and the Anaheim Fall Parade. They have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim, Cops 4 Kids and Caterina's Club to help the disadvantaged in the community.
This year the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce has identified 11 businesses to be honored at the Anaheim Business Awards Luncheon. The event will begin at noon on November 13th at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel (1600 Disneyland Dr., Anaheim, CA).
