Stanford Student Entrepreneur to Travel to 10 Countries in 2 Weeks to Demo the Sesame Smart Lock
Following the overwhelming interest in CANDY HOUSE's first product, entrepreneur Jerming Gu will travel to 10 countries in two weeks to demonstrate the Sesame smart lock, the world's first instant smart lock, and to express the company's gratitude for the international support received to date.
Online, April 1, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Starting April 4, the entrepreneurial Stanford student will travel across North America, Europe and Asia to show how the Sesame instant smart lock works, replacing house keys and revolutionizing the way we open the doors to our homes. Gu will be traveling to Japan, Singapore, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Canada and other countries during this tour.
Gu scheduled the tour after his Kickstarter campaign hit record numbers, exceeding its original funding goal of $100,000 within nine hours. Currently, nearly 5,000 supporters have backed the project, pledging a total of more than $810,000 with 20+ days to go!
"We're just overwhelmed that the Sesame instant smart lock has been so successful this early on, and we want to share it with even more people"
Jerming Gu, co-founder
“We’re just overwhelmed that the Sesame instant smart lock has been so successful this early on, and we want to share it with even more people,” Gu said. “Visiting 10 countries in two weeks might sound like a ‘crazy journey,’ but we are excited to share Sesame with people around the world.”
Developed and tested by Stanford students, the Sesame instant smart lock works with the existing single-cylinder deadbolt lock in your home. Install the lock – no tools required – and use the Sesame app (available for iOS and Android), custom remote knock, or voice control to open your front door. Using a Bluetooth or WiFi connection, the Sesame smart lock operates on lithium batteries. For extra security, the owner of the smart lock can choose who has access to the lock and can receive notifications any time the door is opened or closed.
Currently, Sesame fits all deadbolts in the U.S., Canada, and most locks in Sweden, Denmark and Japan. It comes in four colors and will be available in May 2015, starting at $149. Kickstarter backers can make a pledge of $89 or more to receive a Sesame lock at a discounted price. Additional packages and rewards are also available.
