Star Plus Rebrands with Fresh New Look
Biggest change for Star Plus since launch 10 years ago
Online, June 16, 2010 (Newswire.com) - London, UK: STAR Network, the UK's leading provider for South Asian entertainment and a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation, has rebranded its flagship channel, Star Plus. This is the first time a South Asian television station has taken such a bold step to rebrand its most popular channel.
Yeshpal Sharma, Vice President, Distribution & Advertising Sales for STAR UK & Europe, says: "It gives me great pleasure to announce the brand refresh for our flagship channel Star Plus. This is the first time in the history of South Asian television brands that a refresh has happened in such depth of detail, permeating to the core of its business.
The new philosophy of Star Plus is 'Nayi Soch', which translates into 'Fresh Perspectives' and signifies a positive move into the future. The 'nayi soch' is reflected in everything we do - content creation, brand solutions for advertisers and adding value to our distributors and the way we build our business at STAR."
The progressive refresh sees a striking new logo with the iconic STAR logo shaded in vivid ruby red that is representative of Star Plus being at the heart of STAR's impressive bouquet of channels. The colour red also represents prosperity, optimism, celebration and energy, all of which typify the core values of Star Plus and its range of innovative content across programming genres.
London-based brand solutions company, Venture Three, which has been used by News Corporation to rebrand Sky, and also by The Times newspaper, hmv, Heathrow and Waterstone's, designed the new Star Plus logo.
This refresh also celebrates ten glorious years of Star Plus and its commitment in creating innovative content that raises the bar for South Asian entertainment.
The channel refresh goes live on June 13th during the popular annual Star Parivaar Awards on Star Plus.
Some of the new shows that will strengthen the 'Nayi Soch' brand promise are Tere Liye (launches 21st June on Star Plus) - A Balaji comeback that offers a whole new perspective on love stories and Chand Chupa Badal Mein (launches 12th July on Star Plus) - A new look on middle class aspirations and how girl becomes the back bone of her family.
STAR's bouquet of channels includes, STAR Plus, the leading general entertainment channel in India, STAR One, the next generation of Hindi entertainment, STAR Gold, one of India's favourite Bollywood channels as well as STAR News, Europe's first Hindi language news channel.
