Star-studded Crafts For A Cause Auction To Begin March 15, 2010

Musicians, Actors, Directors and Producers create one-of-a-kind items to benefit Haiti

New York - A veritable who's who in the indie music and Hollywood scene have come together to craft handmade items for an online auction benefitting Haiti.

Drew Barrymore, Norah Jones, Jenny Lewis, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Natalie Portman, Kate Nash, Tegan and Sara, Spike Jonze, Vampire Weekend...and many more artists have contributed items to an online auction put together by Binki Shapiro (of Los Angeles band Little Joy).

All proceeds will go to Artists For Peace and Justice, a foundation established in early 2009 by Paul Haggis (director of Academy Award Winning film CRASH) to raise funds for Father Rick Frechette who has worked in the slums of Haiti for 22 years. Originally arriving on the island as a priest, Father Frechette quickly realized the need for a doctor was greater, so earned a medical degree while continuing work in the slums of Port-Au-Prince on weekends. He and his small team have established an orphanage, medical clinics, schools and a pediatric hospital, which is the only free hospital serving the children of one of the largest slums in the western hemisphere. Mr. Haggis met Father Frechette during a trip to Haiti and created the foundation to help him achieve his goals there.

For the Crafts for a Cause auction, artists have contributed various items such as a all-costs-covered track with super producer Mark Ronson, a Rodarte decorated T-shirt, a Norah Jones decorated bag and shirt and Natalie Portman-signed ballet slippers she wore when filming the upcoming movie BLACK SWAN.

The auction will last for 12 days beginning at 8am on Monday March 15, 2010 at :
