Stars Align For VIP Reception Honoring Community Advocates In After School Program
Online, February 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Without supervision and nowhere to go, children become susceptible to the dangerous street environment. After-School All-Stars Columbus provides children with a safe place to go after-school while giving them an outlet to explore their intellectual, creative, and active selves. Presenting 2011's benefit to recognize leaders who have made significant contributions to the Columbus community, Evening Of Stars VIP Reception will occur Friday March 4, 2011 at Hyatt On Capitol Square from 5:00 to 7:30pm. Come meet, greet and mingle with our special celebrity guests and past supporters. Confirmed participants include, ASAS founder Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor John Kasich , Mayor Michael B. Coleman and celebrities Eddie George, and Lou Ferrigno among others.
This event will raise important funds to support CASAS' comprehensive after-school programming at current and future middle school sites, as well as new programs and projects. After-School All-Stars Columbus engages children in activities and on-going relationships that increase confidence and encourage success in all areas of life. Between the hours of 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, is considered the "danger zone" for delinquent and harmful behaviors amongst middle school youth ages. After-School All-Stars provides an accessible, safe, supervised environment in which to do homework, participate in art, music, community service, and other enrichment activities, that ensures an enormous impact on a child's adolescent growth.

After-School All-Stars is a nonprofit organization founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger that provides comprehensive after-school programs to at-risk middle school youth.
