Startup Land Travel Marketplace Jayride.com Announces Investment by Search Marketing Expert and Angel Investor Andrey Shirben.

Andrey Shirben to help Sydney-based Jayride.com to complete financing round and accelerate global growth in ridesharing and land travel distribution.

Jayride.com the Australian startup that created the land travel marketplace announced today investment by Andrey Shirben, one of the first investors in Kenshoo, a global leader in digital marketing software.

In addition to helping Jayride.com to conclude its current financing round, Mr. Shirben will bring a wealth of digital marketing and management experience to the company, plus connections to the biggest players in the global travel sector.

At Kenshoo, Mr. Shirben was one of the first investors and held a number of management roles within the company over five and a half years, including general manager of the Asia-Pacific region.

"After meeting Jayride's Founders, following up with them over the course of a few months and seeing their execution, the decision to invest was an easy one," said Andrey Shirben. "Great team, disruptive idea, lots of business potential in a huge market. What else could an investor ask for?"

In Jayride.com, Mr. Shirben sees an opportunity to solve a global travel problem, aggregating and distributing land travel data from the most fragmented of suppliers including rideshares, shuttle and bus networks, then deliver this data to the hands of travel search companies.

"We are excited to welcome Andrey as our first investor. We foresee that his talent and experience will be instrumental in accelerating the growth of Jayride.com as he has been with other companies he has worked with," said Rod Bishop, Jayride.com co-founder.

"Ridesharing is an amazing new industry with over US$30m raised by startups globally in the last 12 months. These startups are using online marketplaces to crack the challenge of acquiring critical mass in land transport. At Jayride.com we are doing the same, not just for rideshare, but for all fragmented land travel modes."

"We look forward to taking this from Australia and New Zealand to the UK and then around the world."
