Stay Alfred Joins Bisnow's Multifamily Annual Conference (BMAC) West
Tom Klaess, Stay Alfred's SVP of Strategic Partnerships, Shares New Lifestyle Amenity Opportunity
SPOKANE, Wash., July 17, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Stay Alfred, the hospitality startup that pioneered the travel apartment concept in the alternative accommodation space, is participating in Bisnow’s Multifamily Annual Conference (BMAC) West today in Los Angeles. Tom Klaess, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Stay Alfred, is providing his expertise on how market leaders attract and retain tenants in the panel covering the state of property management.
Stay Alfred partners with multifamily developers and property managers to lease units and entire buildings and then offers them as travel apartments for guests. On the heels of raising $47 million in Series B funding in 2018, Stay Alfred operates more than 2,500 upscale, professionally managed travel apartments in 33 prime downtown cities and is continuing its trajectory of rapid expansion.
“In addition to the 25% increase in NOI that developers receive when they add a Stay Alfred travel apartment program, the travel perks that we extend to building residents is becoming a powerful amenity magnet," said Tom Klaess, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Stay Alfred. “Before we move in, we work with building staff to communicate the Stay Alfred value proposition to full-time residents. Bisnow’s conference and panel will be a great opportunity to share success stories we’ve seen with tenants taking advantage of exclusive benefits, including our Friends and Family Stay program, unlimited discounts on all Stay Alfred reservations and hosted residents events.”
Prior to joining Stay Alfred, Klaess managed the Western Region for Milestone Management / Starwood Capital as the Regional Vice President of Operations. With more than 30 years of experience in the multifamily industry, before joining Starwood, he was a Regional Vice President for Pinnacle where he served on the Operating Committee. Klaess also held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Laramar Communities where he served key roles on both the executive and investment committees.
“Our model is simple - we help developers stabilize their model by reducing operating expenses while adding unique travel amenities to attract and retain building residents,” said Jordan Allen, CEO of Stay Alfred. “We win when we form lasting developer partnerships that can grow over time, and we’re finding the value Stay Alfred brings to a building with resident travel perks stretch far beyond the immediate stabilization impact of the guaranteed monthly rent. It’s a win-win partnership between Stay Alfred, developers and residents when Stay Alfred travel perks help developers compete in the amenities war.”
