easyHotel Dubai, the budget hotel chain's first venture outside Europe, has begun taking online reservations ahead of its opening on August 1st, 2010. Located inside Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) on Sheikh Zayed Road, the hotel, operated by Istithmar Budget Hotels FZE, an Istithmar World company, is celebrating its launch with double rooms on sale from just AED 99 per night.
The hotel is a five-minute walk from the Jebel Ali Metro Station No 42 and aims to be a perfect location for all Jafza-based companies, offering easy access by bus, taxi or train from anywhere in Dubai.

"This is easyHotel's first venture outside Europe and as such represents a strategic step forward in their expansion plans," said Andrew Jordan, an executive director at Istithmar World.

"easyHotel Dubai, Jebel Ali targets a clientele that demands exceptional value for money."

The hotel is based in a brand new six-storey building featuring 216 air-conditioned bedrooms. easyHotel Dubai is part of the popular budget hotel brand owned by chairman and entrepreneur Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. The opening represents renewed confidence in both Dubai real estate and its economy in general.

Strong demand in Dubai's hotel sector will see nearly 14,000 additional rooms introduced into the emirate by the end of 2012, new research shows. The study by property consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle claimed the growth would be supported by the opening of major hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, the Pullman at the Mall of the Emirates and the Fairmont Resort & Spa at the Palm Jumeirah, Emirates Business 24/7 reported. In addition, the research found that high demand levels will see Dubai's hotels maintain occupancy rates within the low to mid-70 per cent level over the short to medium term. Apartments in Dubai have witnessed a similar level of interest.

Jones Lang LaSalle also noted that Dubai's total hotel graded supply has increased by nearly 3,600 during the second quarter of 2010 as hotels such as Armani at Burj Khalifa, Sofitel at Jumeirah Beach and Movenpick at Jumeirah Beach were completed.
The news comes after Dubai Airports recorded a 13.6 per cent year-on-year growth in passenger traffic at Dubai International during May this year.
