Stellar Global announce the appointment of new CEO's
Jeff Jensen, representing the majority shareholder of Stellar Global, today announced that John Hollingsworth, CEO of Stellar Asia Pacific had been appointed Stellar Global CEO, effective 1 July 2010.
Online, June 28, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Melbourne, Australia - 28th June 2010: Jeff Jensen, representing the majority shareholder of Stellar Global, today announced that John Hollingsworth, CEO of Stellar Asia Pacific had been appointed Stellar Global CEO, effective 1 July 2010. The appointment follows the retirement of Steve Morphett CEO and Chairman of the privately held BPO Company Stellar Global.
John Hollingsworth's appointment as CEO of Stellar Global is in recognition of his strong leadership through a period of consolidation and diversification within the organisation "Mr Hollingsworth has been a key contributor to Stellar's success not only in the Asia Pacific, but also through his active contribution in all aspects of Stellar's global strategy." said Mr Jensen "He is well equipped to steer the global business through the next phases of expansion." he continued.
The Stellar Global business, spanning 4 continents and 8 operating companies, will now be headquartered in Melbourne. "The Asia Pacific region remains an important priority for the Stellar business" said Mr Hollingsworth "and we have a clear objective to achieve greater growth in the European and North American markets."
Current Chief Operating Officer of Stellar Asia Pacific, Melissa Hamilton, will take over the helm of CEO Stellar Asia Pacific. Mr Jensen congratulated Mrs Hamilton on her appointment and commented on the strength of the Stellar Australian management team whereby the two CEO appointments were made from within Stellar.
Mr Jensen also took the opportunity to thank Mr Morphett for the major contribution he has made to the establishment, growth and global reach of the Stellar companies and looks forward to Morphett's continued leadership as Chairman. Mr Morphett, who announced his decision to shareholders and executives within the company 18 months ago, will remain as Chairman of the company Boards, however after 12 years at the helm of Stellar is looking to pursue other interests and spend more time with his family.
Mr Morphett was appointed as inaugural CEO of Stellar Asia Pacific when it commenced in 1998 and presided over a period of rapid growth that ultimately saw an expansion of the brand with new ventures in the USA, Scotland, and Philippines. Mr Morphett moved to the Stellar Global CEO role in 2007, initially based in Dallas Texas and returning to Sydney in mid-2009.
Mr Hollingsworth and Mrs Hamilton have been with Stellar for 12 years and 11 years respectively.
