Stericare Launch the First High Density Polypropylene Chopping Board

Online, May 29, 2013 (Newswire.com) - South Wales based antimicrobial specialist SteriTouch has been chosen by Stericare to produce the first high density polypropylene chopping board, demonstrated to kill 99.99% of the bacteria which comes into contact with it, as well as fighting stains and odours.

Chopping boards used for the preparation of meat, fish and even vegetables, will inevitably play host potentially harmful bacteria including E.Coli and Salmonella. While these organisms are generally removed from the surface of the board by normal cleaning, they are able to survive in the small grooves caused through normal usage. However, since the SteriTouch additive is incorporated into the high density polypropylene boards during the moulding process, it is dispersed evenly throughout the entire board. All exposed surfaces remain antimicrobial despite any scratches, ensuring there is nowhere for these organisms to settle and multiply.

The Stericare chopping board is manufactured from molecular weight polypropylene, a highly robust material. It is available in six colours and a range of sizes.
