With over 10 years dedicated to real estate, Mr. Casalenda brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, the Twin City residential market. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in real estate, Mr. Casalenda​​​​ said:

"I owned a restaurant for eleven years. I sold it because my kids were young and I was missing out, I was never home. With extra time on my hands and money in my pocket I went off to work in construction and remodeling. After some time, I ended up buying a couple of properties to fix up and flip. We also bought a few properties, fixed them up, and decided to keep them as rentals. Eventually I got my real estate license thinking that I would have it for my own personal needs. I soon realized that I enjoyed real estate and that it was a lot easier on my body than carrying four by eight sheet rock up and down three flights of steps. So I transitioned from remodeling into real estate full-time. Real estate is very similar in that it is very customer service-oriented."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Mr. Casalenda keeps his finger on the pulse of St. Paul’s real estate market. A disciplined observer of the trade, he notes that the area is now experiencing a unique time marked by advantages for sellers and buyers alike:

"With inventory at one of its lowest points, we are clearly in a seller’s market. Usually you’ll see one or the other. In this case, it’s a little bit of both. The good news, however, is that with interest rates still at all time lows it is also a good time to be a buyer."

Beyond working in real estate, Mr. Casalenda is actively involved in a variety of charities and nonprofits throughout his community. Today, Mr. Casalenda serves as a Treasurer for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit called Vulcan Community Charities, which since its inception more than five years ago, has sought to provide grants and scholarship funds for major universities, schools, and fire departments throughout the Greater St. Paul area. Mr. Casalenda has also served on the board of the National Ataxia Foundation and remaining active with other local and national charities.
