Online, March 31, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Stop Alcohol Deaths, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization bringing awareness to alcohol poisoning, has created a public service announcement (PSA) video to celebrate Alcohol Awareness Month. Alcohol Awareness Month is an opportunity to raise awareness of alcohol abuse and encourage people to make healthy, safe choices.
Drinking too much alcohol can lead to health problems, including alcohol poisoning, hangovers, and an increased risk of heart disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, alcohol-related accidents and health problems cause more than 79,000 deaths a year. In a World Health Organization report released in February, they found that 2.5 million people die of alcohol a year.
Skyworks Pictures, http://skyworkspictures.com, produced the video that features Renee Skye and Dex Curi as the main actors.
The video shows a young woman who starts binge drinking after a fight with her boyfriend. She drinks one too many drinks, lies down, and closes her eyes never to wake up again.
"After losing my sister to alcohol poisoning, I want to educate as many people as I can so that no one loses a loved one like I did," says Shevonne Polastre, Founder of S.A.D., "The video shows the lack of awareness thatbinge drinkers and the people around them have on the dangers of it ."
