Stuart Country Day School Takes Trash To The Runway 
For "Green" Fashion Show
Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart will hold a "green" fashion show on Friday January 14, 2011 from 6pm-8pm featuring clothing and accessories made from recycled materials designed and constructed by the school's students.
Online, January 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - PRINCETON, NJ, January 9, 2010 - Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart will hold a "green" fashion show featuring clothing and accessories made from recycled materials designed and constructed by the school's students.
The fashion show will showcase 25 outfits designed by Middle and Upper School teams with items like dry cleaning bags, bubble wrap, packing "peanuts", and candy wrappers. Complementing each outfit will be accessories from the Lower school, and Preschool students will present recycled bouquets to all of the participants.
Two rising stars in the fashion industry, Louisa Guy Roeder and Christina French Houghton of the women's clothing line Guy French, and a designer from TerraCycle, Inc. will judge the show. The winning designs will be modeled at Stuart's Annual Spring Auction, "See How Our Garden Grows," on April 2, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Princeton.
Auction co-chairs Kristin McConkey and Cheryl Lagay created the fashion show to "expand on the Auction's eco-friendly component and to encourage student participation. It was a community building project that got the girls involved to raise money and awareness for the Auction," said McConkey.
The "Green" fashion show will be held on Friday, January 14th, 2011, from 6pm-8pm in the Cor Unum Theater on the Stuart campus in Princeton, NJ.
