Student Design Competition To Recognize And Reward Talented Designers At Light Middle East

Online, August 9, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Competition was a big draw at the previous edition of Light Middle East, with the winning exhibits attracting considerable attention from attending delegates and trade buyers. Last year's winners, Sara Kamel and Soheil Ansari, both from American University of Dubai, were taken on an all-expenses paid trip to Light+Building, the world's biggest trade show for lighting and intelligent buildings in Frankfurt. There, the students were able to interact with leading international experts and have a first hand look at the latest trends in the industry.

The Best in Class Student Design Competition is aimed at identifying and highlighting emerging talent in light design and energy-saving lighting and is being organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt and Mazarii Interiors. The competition will be held in various categories and winning exhibits will be displayed during Light Middle East. Currently open to design students from across the UAE, the organisers are looking to widen the reach and scope of the competition across the entire region.

Light Middle East 2012, will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 1st to 3rd, 2012. The sole dedicated trade platform for the region's architectural lighting design and associated industries, it serves as a crucial platform to highlight innovative product development and current design trends. The trade event is a key forum for property developers, lighting designers & architects, urban planners, specifiers, municipalities, traders and wholesalers from around the region to source lighting solutions.
