Student-run Company Hosts "Anti-Hollywood" Club Event, May 29
Online, May 16, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In an industry heavily saturated by "the Hollywood Standard," The Noise Academy (TNA), continues to leave their mark on the entertainment industry with its signature event, "Senses: Hear it, See it, Feel it." The young company, comprised of Cal Poly Pomona University students and alumni, hopes to pack The Drink in Pomona's Fox Theatre for the next Senses event on May 29 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
"Picture the standard of the Hollywood club scene," says TNA co-founder, Veronica Amador. "It's a posh rooftop bar with a pool where mainstream music is played. You'd swear you were stepping into the latest Lil' Wayne video."
TNA aims to be the antithesis with no dress code, decent drink prices, and progressive music, says Amador.
Although Senses continues to evolve to stay fresh, their recipe for success is unchanging: people get in free before 10:30 p.m. if they RSVP on Facebook or on Going.com. TNA stays true to their "anti-Hollywood" feel with no dress code and with no mainstream music. Instead, this Senses event will introduce more house-style music to the event with the addition of guest DJ Alf Alpha.
May 29 will mark the fifth Senses event since it re-opened at the newly restored Fox Theatre in Pomona. To accommodate increasing attendance, TNA has expanded the event into new spaces such as the rooftop overlooking downtown Pomona. Attending will be TNA artist MC Prototype, fresh from his performance at Paid Dues, the largest independent hip-hop festival in the world.
You can RSVP to Senses on May 29 through TNA's Facebook page at
