Uniguru, a study abroad information and services website, has launched its very own virtual admission counselling for the first time in September 2012. This ambitious project helps prospective students with the filling in of university application forms online and also helps them secure admission from universities of their choice. This common application form created by the site, mirrors university application forms from numerous study destinations listed on the website.

Quite similar to The Common Application website in the USA and UCAS in the UK, this application counselling service "UniForm" lets students fill in forms and submit them online. On encountering any difficulty while filling in application forms, students can seek help from Uniguru's team of counsellors located at the company's Chennai office, via live chat or over the phone.

A total of thirty plus universities across the UK, USA and Australia have signed up to receive course applications through Uniguru. This list of universities is fast increasing given the popularity of the service. The key USP of this feature is that students while deciding which courses and universities they would like to enroll for, can make their decisions based on the extensive course information, student reviews, downloadable university prospectuses and opinions from the Q&A forum available on the site. With UniForm, students can apply to multiple universities across the UK, USA and Australia, unlike other services in this niche, such as The Common App that targets only US institutions and UCAS that targets just the UK universities.

The website does not make any commercial profit from the students for these services that it offers and these services are absolutely free of charge. Certain universities, however, consider the applications submitted through Uniguru as pre-applications and get in touch with the students directly and may ask them to fill in their own application forms on their websites.

Since its inception in September 2012, more than 1000 students have submitted pre-applications via Uniguru and quite a few successful students have received conditional/unconditional offer letters.

"The actual number of students who got offer letters may be much more; it is getting difficult for us to keep track of the students' progress once they start directly engaging with the universities" - say's Lavanya Madhanraj who heads the application counselling team at Uniguru.

Key features of UniForm:
- Students can fill one form and submit multiple applications
- Choice of universities across the UK, USA and Australia
- Virtual counselling via phone and chat
- Free service, no hidden costs

"Choosing to study at the right university overseas is a life changing decision that students make. They depend heavily on Education consultants to make this decision for them. Uniguru changes this equation completely. At Uniguru, we believe in making information accessible to students and giving them the power to make decisions about their study abroad future based on facts available on the site. Students can decide about universities that match their needs and not the other way round" - says Priyatham Rajagopalan, COO at HotCourses India Pvt. Ltd.
