Sun Fest Offers Music, Dancers Sept 24
The Aveda Institute Corpus Christi is hosting Sun Fest, an event intended to have fun while raising awareness about Aveda and the Aveda Institute Corpus Christi, located in La Palmera Mall.
Online, September 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Corpus Christi- The Aveda Institute Corpus Christi is hosting Sun Fest, an event intended to have fun while raising awareness about Aveda and the Aveda Institute Corpus Christi, located in La Palmera Mall; while also raising funds to build a Bronze Memorial at the second largest Native American burial ground in Texas. Sun Fest is scheduled to take place Saturday, September 24, 2011.
This family-friendly event is benefit for South Texas Alliance for Indigenous People. S.T.A.I.P. is a non-profit inter-tribal organization consisting of indigenous people of all the Americas. Consequently, they do not teach nor practice the ways, customs and traditions of any one particular tribe.
The headlining band will be Jai Roots, a San Antonio reggae band, influenced by many cultures, including that of Native Americans. 12:30-1 pm- Opening Ceremony with Native Dance and Drum by STAIP

2-3 pm- Cal Siverfox Flute, STAIP, Danza Azteca
3-3:30 pm- Mayor's Appearance
3:30-4:30 pm- Fashion Show
4:30-5:30 pm- Live Radio Remote
5:30-6:30 pm- LIBRA
6:30-7:30 pm- Johnny Love & the Dankadelics
7:30-9 pm- Jai Roots
The event also features a live radio remote; food, drinks, $25,000 Giveaway, Inflatable money / prize booth, Dunking booth, Native American Tee Pee and information, Raffles, Punch cards for each sponsor; Product samples; totes to carry sponsor / vendor information, coupons and sample products. Sun Fest will begin at Noon and continue until 9:30 p.m.
Free booth spaces for "like-minded" non-profit organizations will be available at this event. Arts & Crafts Vendor spaces for eco-friendly/"green" products, and sponsorships are also available for the festival.
