Suresky Breaks Ground on 38,000-Sq.-Foot Hyundai Dealership in Goshen, NY
GOSHEN, N.Y., December 1, 2021 (Newswire.com) - Suresky of Goshen will be breaking ground on a brand new 38,000 square foot Hyundai Dealership at 2 Hatfield Lane in Goshen, New York, on December 9 at 10:00 a.m.
Brick-and-mortar, family-owned businesses have become a rarity in today's high-tech, fast-paced business environment. The Suresky Auto Group was founded by Ike Suresky in 1916 and has been selling new and used vehicles under one family ownership for 105 years.
Ike began his journey by selling parts/accessories such as tires, batteries, belts, motor oil products and one car at a time such as Hupmobile, Durant, Nash, Pierce Arrow, and Whippet. Cars were delivered by freight car to Ike at the Erie Freight Depot in downtown Goshen. Ike's son, and later daughter-in-law (Harold and Helen Suresky), took control of the business through the 1980s until their retirement. Joseph Suresky, Ike's grandson has worked and operated in the business since the early 1980s and is now the company's President.
Currently, Suresky represents Hyundai, the Stellantis line of vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram) as well as the Genesis line of vehicles.
According to Joe Suresky, President of the Suresky Auto Group, "There were a lot of construction companies that were interested in this project, we made the decision to hire Baxter because they had a good reputation and because we think it's very important to try and give as much business to other Hudson Valley Business's whenever possible."
Baxter's Senior Project Manager, Matt Lawrence, and an Orange County Resident for over 50 Years couldn't agree more. "I am excited to be a part of a major expansion to the Suresky Auto Dealership in Goshen, NY - a 105-year-old multi-generational business. The new "Suresky Hyundai" will be a project that employs many of our Orange County trades, both union and non-union. I am looking forward to teaming up with a great group of people to deliver a product we can all be proud of. The last two years have taken a toll on many businesses. This Suresky project restores our hope that our communities are moving in the right direction and our Baxter Staff is inspired to keep moving the needle forward."
