Sweet Soul Records Reaches Exclusive License Agreement With Neo-Soul Artist Song And Tassel&Naturel

An exclusive license agreement has been reached between SWEET SOUL RECORDS and neo-soul singer Song, and producers Tassel&Naturel which will allow for Japan-wide distribution of her album, 'Let Love Shine,' featuring a cast of well-known artists.

Today, SWEET SOUL RECORDS, parent company lifesound, Inc., officially announced that an agreement has be reached with US/France-based neo-soul artist Song, for nationwide distribution of her newest project 'Let Love Shine,' including exclusive Japan bonus tracks. 'Let Love Shine' features tracks which include well-known artists Marcus Miller, Manu Katche, E-Z Trigga, Acquenin, DJ Cam, and the late Guru, the other half of the hip-hop duo Gang Starr.

"'Let Love Shine' is 13 track album with a mixture of light jazz and neo soul. From the angst of love lost in 'I Loved You' to the outrage of hate in 'Stop Spreading Hate,' this album floats you along, guiding you through a journey of beautiful melodies, catchy horn phrasing, and the stories in our lives. This album is smooth and jarring. It is definitely "grown folk's music!"" says Song.

Song's sultry in-your-face vocal style is reminiscent of a young Dionne Warwick or Phyliss Hyman. After the release of her first album, 'In The Fireplace' in 1999, Song moved to France where she participated in the recordings of several albums. She was soon featured on albums such as 'Street Soul,' 'Just A Feeling,' 'Deux Pieds Sur Terre,' and 'Fillet of Soul Opus 2.' She has been on stage with the likes of Keziah Jones, Les Nubians, Manu Katche, and Lisa Stansfield, and has opened for Lil Brother, Bobby Lyle, Peabo Bryson and the late great Issac Hayes.

Alex Tassel is featured on more than forty records alongside Dj Cam as well as Sanseverino, Orlando Morais, and Disiz La Peste. He remains nevertheless profoundly attached to Jazz, which he blends with machines, hip hop and electronic music. 'Fillet of Soul,' 'Opus 2,' 'Diamond Suite,' and 'Food for Thought,' albums co-produced with Guillaume Naturel, have won critical acclaim and have been a commercial success among electronic and soul fans.

Guillaume Naturel devoted himself to the saxophone at the age of 16 under the tutelage of François Jeanneau and Dave Liebman. In 1982, he started his professional path at the "Vault of Bolee" with Jacky Terrasson. He quickly became one of the most demanded saxophonists in Paris and has worked with musicians such as: Jean-wolf Longnon, François Chassagnhee, Emmanuel Bex, Dee-Dee Bridgewater, Aldo Romano, Eric Lann, Andre Ceccarelli, and Toots Thielemans.

'Let Love Shine' will be released in Japan under the SWEET SOUL RECORDS label on October 5, 2011.
