Swine Flu School Planning Workshop - Message from the Chairman
Online, November 6, 2009 (Newswire.com) - Dear Colleague:
In light of President Obama's declaring a national emergency for swine flu, and as a medical professional, community organizer and Chairman of the upcoming Chicago Swine Flu Conference on November 19-20, 2009, I know first hand the impact that our present flu season is having upon our schools, families and in the broader community.
In Chairing the International Swine Flu Conference in Washington, D.C. in August of this year, I obtained a wealth of knowledge and insight as the conference engaged over 40 countries with resources and cutting edge sciences as it related to vaccine issues, manufacturing, distribution to dispelling fears, enhancing collaborations with entities surrounding not only schools but the community at large.
The experience was thought provoking and the body of knowledge shared throughout the conference allowed the hundreds of delegates who attended to return to there respective countries and communities to educate others and through risk management enable them to prepare a unique series of protocols to aid in community response to the pandemic in the areas of prevention, preparedness, response and recovery for H1N1.
As an educator, you know best that education continues to be our best weapon against H1N1. So join with me and other for two days of informative swine flu planning work shops with national leaders from organizations representing school nurses, school social workers, school counselors, school resource officers, school boards, school psychologists, teachers, school health associations.
The slated expert presenters attending will be sharing their unique perspectives in line with the CDC and WHO and provide answers to the ever changing landscape of our present swine flu pandemic. Their analysis and input will assist those in attendance with working collaboratively in obtaining an enhanced plan of action for perspective schools and communities. If you have any special questions please feel free to call me at 702.400.1025 or if you should require more information regarding elements of or attending the conference don't hesitate to contact Kate Ramirez at 202.536.2844 or [email protected]. . . .
Sincerely,
David Osman
