TÃœV NORD AG Expands Board Of Management. Dirk Stenkamp To Strengthen International Focus

TÃœV NORD AG is expanding its top management team for further and consistent fulfilment of its international growth strategy.

Dirk Stenkamp will take up his post as a new member of the Board of Management on 1 February 2013 . Stenkamp, who is 50 years old, will be responsible for the strategic orientation of all TÃœV NORD international subsidiaries and also for the Aerospace business unit. In addition, he will drive forward development of the planned IT business unit.

Stenkamp studied physics at RWTH Aachen University and at the research institute Forschungszentrum Julich (KFA). Following this, he completed his doctorate in Aachen and Julich in the area of materials research, also undertaking research work at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories (USA).

From 1997 to 2009 Stenkamp held various positions within the CARL ZEISS GROUP, ending his time there as a member of the Management Board of CARL ZEISS SMT AG.

Since 2010 he has, among other responsibilities, held the post of Chief Operating Officer and was a member of the Management Board of the international listed company CENTROTHERM PHOTOVOLTAICS AG.

Stenkamp is married and has two children.

With this appointment, TÃœV NORD AG is increasing the Members of its Board of Management to five: in addition to Guido Rettig (Chairman of the Board of Management, responsible for the Natural Resources business unit), the members are Elmar Legge (Industry Services, Group Finance and Controlling, Administration), Klaus Kleinherbers (Mobility) and Harald Reutter (Training and Human Resources, Labour Director).

Last year, TÃœV NORD Group achieved its business goals, increasing turnover still further as against 2011, when the one billion mark was passed for the first time. More than one fifth of the over 10,000 strong workforce are employed abroad, mainly in Europe and Asia.
