TAFE Power Group announced the launch of its SPEED Brand maintainance free 'SPEED CALCI POWER' MF automotive batteries in the market

The TAFE-Power Source (TPS), a unit company of the multi crore Amalgmations Group with state-of-the-art manufacturing units in Chennai, Tamil Nadu has announced the launch of its SPEED Brand maintainance free 'CALCI POWER' MF automotive batteries during its official anual business session and Dealers Distributors meet held at Kumarakom, Kerala.

The Company also markets all SPEED Brand Batteries for Automotive, Insta Power for Inverter, SONA for Tractor, AMCO BEST VRLA for back-up power and SPEED BOSS VRLA for 2 Wheelers and 4 wheelers.

According to Mr. N. Padmanabhan, COO, TAFE Power Sources, "we are happy to introduce these batteries are of the Fit-and-Forget type requiring no topping up with distilled water, during service. The batteries are fitted with calcium-calcium grids for the positive and negative plates, almost eliminating self-discharge on storage and service".

TAFE Power Source commenced production of lead-acid batteries as an extended facility of the 60 year old AMCO Batteries Limited, Bangalore and started its own SPEED Brand from 2002.

TPS also produces Sealed Valve Regulated Lead-acid Batteries (called VRLA) in capacities 1.5Ah to 3000Ah and has entered into technical collaboration with B&B Battery Corporation, China.

"CALCI POWER" Maintenance Free Batteries of 32Ah, 35Ah & 75Ah capacities can be available with dealers and C& F agents spread across India and SARC nations.

TAFE was established in 1961 in collaboration with Massey Ferguson, UK to manufacture and market a range of tractors and related farm equipment in India are also one of the largest manufacturers of tractors in India.

The overall business during the past years have been overwhelming and this year the company has crossed over 250 crores and aiming a target of Rs. 500 crore in the coming years.

It also has plans to invest more than 20 crores to achive the required target for the fiscal year, said Mr. Padmanabhan.

The overall market for batteries in India is estimated to be over 12 Billion.
