Tai Chi Lovers Love New Stillpoint Piano Method

Tai Chi lovers/practitioners can now enhance their Tai Chi experience with the new, unique, improvisational Stillpoint Piano Method.

There is an art form to slowing down the mind while practicing the piano. In the Stillpoint Piano Method, a technique called lucid learning is used to help achieve balance between mind and body. In the lucid learning state, one experiences a deep sense of relaxation and a quieting of the mind. This stillness of the mind heightens multi-sensory awareness which enables a student to unlock their true potential. Multi-sensory awareness also allows students to journey deeper within themselves.

What makes the Stillpoint Piano Method so unique is that the program is designed to work more effectively and efficiently with the sub-conscious mind. You learn to practice the piano in a more meditative state. Through slow and contemplative piano practicing, you can achieve better mind and body balance. The Stillpoint techniques enable you to deepen your level of musical expression while enjoying a holistic learning experience at the piano.

"My personal experience with The Stillpoint Piano Method was freeing and exhilarating. It gave me permission to explore through sound, breath, feeling, and trust. I found myself 'playing' the piano with spontaneous enjoyment after only a few lessons. While my family thought I was playing something I had learned, I was simply improvising and loving it!"

"When Thomas introduce to me his Stillpoint Piano Method, I was immediately relaxed and felt like I was actually "taking a break" from the worries of life by sitting down to discover the piano. As we progressed, I realized I was learning about written notes, transferring them to my fingers, and making beautiful music... without any stress! Pain free piano lessons? Unheard of! His approach is vacation-like, and yet I was comfortably absorbing the technique without having to grit my teeth or memorize every detail."
- Bruce Beaton, Photographer, Portland, Oregon

The creator and author of the Stillpoint Piano Method is Thomas Rheingans - a composer, pianist, and teacher with over thirty years of professional training. The Stillpoint Piano Method is the culmination of his spiritual and musical experiences over the past twenty-five years. In that time, Thomas discovered new ways to practice the piano more efficiently and expressively. He learned to quiet the mind so that he could experience his piano playing with multi-sensory awareness.

Thomas received full scholarships to complete his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Piano Performance at the University of Illinois. Rheingans has taught classical, jazz, and music theory courses at several colleges across the country. Currently, Rheingans owns and operates Rivergoose Records - an independent record label and production company that also provides music educational services.

Thomas has released ten CDs through his Rivergoose Records label. Rheingans is quite unique as a pianist. His musical diversity covers classical, jazz, pop, contemporary, New Age, and folk music. He also has composed music for plays, musical theater, commercials, and independent films.
