nation's largest voluntary health organization devoted exclusively to funding lymphoma research and providing patients and healthcare professionals with critical information on the disease.
WHAT: The Lymphoma Research Foundation Minnesota Chapter's 7th Annual Lymphomathon 5K walk/run. Lymphomathons in 24 cities are expected to raise over $1.7 million this year, with eighty-three cents of every dollar spent supporting research and programming.

WHY: To raise awareness of lymphoma and research funds for a cure for the most common blood cancer and the third most common cancer in children. Today, a half a million Americans are affected by lymphoma. It was estimated that there were about 74,030 new cases of lymphoma in the U.S. in 2010, and about 21,530 people died from it.*Approximately 1,110 people will be diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in Minnesota (3 Minnesotans each day) and another 330 will lose their lives this year.
