Taste of Springfield Taking Place at Springfield Town Center on July 29th.

Springfield Town Center to showcase the best of local food and beverage at family-friendly, inaugural Taste of Springfield 'Feast'-ival

Springfield Town Center will host its inaugural Taste of Springfield Food Festival, showcasing local eateries from the greater Springfield area on Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Highlighting the very best food vendors from around the greater Springfield area, the event will define what it means to eat like a local. As the area’s first premier “feast-ival,” vendors will include beloved regional establishments such as Dixie Bones BBQ, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and Cakes by Shelby. Other onsite activities include entertainment and live musical performances, moon bounces, balloon artists (plus more activities to be announced) – the outdoor event is the perfect family-friendly afternoon showcasing the ever expanding, award-winning Northern Virginia food scene offerings!

With its original opening in 1973, Springfield Mall was heralded as one of the top shopping centers in the DC-area, Since its 2015 acquisition of the property, new property owners', PREIT, have revived the retail center with the same energy and life that first made it the leading place to eat, shop, and play. After a $250 million gut renovation, the mall reopened its doors newly branded as Springfield Town Center, unveiling top-billed retailer tenants such as Macy's, a two-level H&M, and Britain-based clothier Topshop – its first location in the DC-area. With a luxury reclined seating theater, 41,000 square-foot LA Fitness gym, and endless dining options, Springfield Town Center is a truly 'whole-istic' community cornerstone.

The Taste of Springfield Festival will begin at 12 p.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. and take place in the Town Center Parking Lot along Frontier Drive just outside Saks off 5th and Nordstrom Rack. There is free parking on site and the festival is a short walk from the Franconia/Springfield Metro Stop on the Blue Line. The event is free to attend; $1 tasting tickets will be available both at the event and online at www.tasteofspringfield.com.
