Tattoo Artist to Break Record for Breast Cancer
Online, October 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Tattoo Artist to Break Record for Breast Cancer
For 24 hours this New Year's Eve, a well-known Denver tattoo artist, Kaos, will attempt to break the world record by tattooing 900 pink ribbons on breast cancer survivors, their families and supporters. The current record stands at 801 tattoos in a 24-hour time period.
Kaos' goal is to not only raise money for breast cancer research but to encourage continued awareness by bringing in the New Year and reminding people to "Save the Boobies!" and do self-exams each month. "This is a cause that is close to all of us. Every day we hear of someone that has been affected by breast cancer and this is my way to contribute and make a difference", says Kaos.
This grassroots effort is being brought together in partnership with Monster Energy drinks, Guinness World Records, P66 Tattoo & Art Galleria, Streamline Hot Rods, and RockStar Industries Ink'd and promises to raise money and awareness while bringing in the New Year in a positive and meaningful way. A $10 minimum donation for each pink ribbon tattoo will be requested and proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.
P66 Tattoo & Art Galleria and Streamline Hot Rods will host the event which starts on New Year's Eve and will end on New Year's Day.
P66 is Denver's premier tattoo shop that opened its doors in August 2010 and is owned and operated by Jeremy Hydle, who has been a creative force to be reckoned with for well over 10 years in the tattoo industry, and Todd Gold, who owns Streamline Hot Rods. Hydle also is the owner of Cherry Creek's first and only tattoo shop, RockStar Industries Ink'd, which also opened its doors in August 2010.
