Tawkers.com Honchos Have a Chat

Two of the senior officers in the Tawkers.com corporate structure are going to talk about growth potential, use cases, and the future of the business. "Addicted Tawker" and SVP of Business Development and CEO Blake Ian will chat on November 27th.

Just a few short months ago, Jordan Birnbaum was appointed SVP of Business Development at Tawkers.com, a new and intriguing chatting platform. Since then, he's hosted almost seventy "Tawks." His profile on the site includes a subtitle, "Addicted Tawker." So it's no surprise that when the service's CEO and innovator wants to sit and have a Tawk, he turned to Birnbaum. Who better to have a chat about your website with than one of the most engaged users on that website?

For those of you still not in the know, Tawkers.com is a relatively new social site. They host online discussions in the form of public and published instant message conversations between two Hosts. They include a topic, start at a prescribed time, and have an open forum. In the forum, other Tawkers can talk to each other and respond to the Hosts. It's built with a very give-and-take approach. When a comment in the forum is up-voted enough, it can be brought to the attention of the Hosts. If they like it or want to respond to it, the comment can be put under "Spotlight" in the main Tawk window. The main purpose of the talk is never abandoned, but it can certainly be directed by the audience.

The topic of this Tawk is Tawking Through Social Media. It's going to happen on November 27th, and begins at 6pm Pacific time. Blake Ian, the founder and CEO of Tawkers.com will be sharing his vision for the website. Registered audience members can ask questions of Ian or Birnbaum, or talk amongst themselves. In the description of the Tawk, Birnbaum challenges his CEO with a promise not only to grill him on his "fascinating perspective on social media," but also how Tawkers itself fits in the landscape. Since many of the Tawks happening right now are planned and promoted, more like guest lections than spontaneity, it will be interesting to hear how Ian plans to move the service into everyday use for online discussion.

Listening to company big wigs discuss the ramifications of their corporate business is almost never an entertaining experience. But Ian is going to be chatting about a service designed for accessibility, and his co-Host is one of the most active users on the site. While there is no real expectation for raw dialogue for this Chat, sincere and transparent Tawking is definitely on the menu.
