Team Blue-Emu Wraps Up PBR World Finals 2012

It wasn't easy, but Team Blue-Emu wrapped up the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Built Ford Touch Series (BFTS) 2012 season and chalked it as a success.

It wasn't easy, but Team Blue-Emu wrapped up the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Built Ford Touch Series (BFTS) 2012 season and chalked it as a success.

"Our riders had a lot of injuries this season, but despite everything the guys did great. I'm proud of them," Chairman Richard Guy said.

The PBR BFTS culminates with a five day event in Las Vegas. This year, Team Blue-Emu rider and fan favorite JB Mauney, who broke his hand early in the season, made an unprecedented come back by switching riding hands leading up to the World Finals. Critics said he'd never be able to do it, but managed to work his way back to rank fifth by the start of the final event. While there, JB worked himself into fourth, ultimately finishing in eighth place.

LJ Jenkins, another high ranking Team Blue-Emu rider, finished the year in third. Luke Snyder, a fellow teammate as well as a Ford Invasion host, finished in eleventh overall. Ryan Dirteater, fondly known as the Cherokee kid, ended in fourteenth place. But perhaps the most inspiring moments during the World Finals were from Team Blue-Emu rider Austin Meier, who rode with a severely sprained ankle. Meier had to very gingerly insert his ankle between the bull he was riding and the chute, often causing pressure as the bull moved around and causing Meier intense pain. In the fifth round, Meier scored the highest score at the World Finals, in spite of the pain, with a 90.75 score on Shepherd Hills Trapper. Meier and two-time World Champion Chris Shivers shared the Lane Frost/Brent Thurman Award, which is presented to the rider(s) with the highest scoring ride at the World Finals. Shivers also scored 90.75 on Shepherd Hills Sod Buster in the third round.

Blue-Emu attended 14 events as a national title sponsor with booths at each event. Before the event, samples are available at the booth along with information about all of Blue-Emu's products including their new products for 2012, Odor Free Continuous Spray , Foot Therapy and Wound Wash . Often times Team Blue-Emu riders would also be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Blue-Emu also gave away ticket upgrades, autographed merchandise and other prizes through their Twitter and their Facebook page.
