Team TWENTY3 and Our Global Sisterhood
Twenty3 is a global group of thinkers that believes changing the world starts with the principle of daring to dream and keeping that dream alive. Our first 23-day campaign, Love Yourself, is all about empowering women of the world, starting on Mar. 8
Online, March 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The global movement of TWENTY3 kicks it all off with their "Love Yourself" Campaign on International Women's Day, March 8th, in order to empower women around the world.
Although the full soundtrack to the book TWENTY3 will not be released until July 2nd, the campaign's single, "Love Yourself," is expected to be in the top five songs to download for free, with the option to donate funds to Team TWENTY3. Team TWENTY3 will host other campaigns with the donations to contribute to other issues around the globe.
The "Love Yourself " campaign is a movement that stems from the song "Love Yourself," produced, written and performed by William J. Stokes. The song paints a vivid picture of the necessity of holistic healing as it asks women worldwide to remember to love one's self.
Taking a look at the bigger picture, Team TWENTY3's tag, "Believe. Dream. Create. Inspire. Love. Heal," incorporates this "Love Yourself" campaign as the foundation for how to abundantly love others.
"Honestly in this era of entertainment I found it complicated to write music that required personal reflection and growth. Later I was inspired by [a hip hop group called] Tomorrow Kings, when one of the emcee's said, 'There are too many villains in entertainment, it's time for heroes. [So I] quickly murdered my ego'," Stokes says.
The song "Love Yourself" strategically addresses many issues with which women have to deal. From domestic violence, abuse and sexism, to insecurities and self-projection, it holds back no inch of the truth.
In a world in which men of certain societal groups are still making women victims, Team TWENTY3 and the "Love Yourself" Campaign is promoting positivity and empowerment for women; By making this effort to give power to women around the world, they illuminate the value and importance of loving yourself first and foremost.
Seeing the U.S. being ranked on the Human Trafficking report for the first time ever last year, Stokes was bothered and felt it even more necessary for him to do something.
Quoting John Lennon's infamous line ("Woman is the nigger of the world"), Stokes fights on the front line for equality, self-awareness, peace, and love for one's self. He wants the people of the world, especially the women, to live in a higher standard of being.
Corresponding with the "Love Yourself" Campaign, encouraging everyone to keep dreaming (and to dream big) is the heart and soul of the TWENTY3 movement.
July 2nd has been set as the target date for the release of E.M.P.'s digital launch of "TWENTY3."
Team TWENTY3 is all about bringing inspiration and motivation to people on a global level to help them make their dreams a reality. Their mission is to empower people all over the world to live "in their dreams awake" (Henry David Thoreau).
