Tech Electronics Gifts In-Kind Donations to Mizzou Athletics for New Golf Facility at Old Hawthorne

Systems integrator will supply and install fire safety and access control systems

Tech Electronics, a technology services organization and systems integrator, announced its support of the University of Missouri's Athletic Department. Tech Electronics is set to donate fire and life safety and access control systems for the new golf facility at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The company will supply and install the systems as gifts-in-kind, totaling more than $10,000 to Mizzou athletics for ongoing facility improvements.

"We are thankful for the support that Tech Electronics has provided Mizzou athletics over the years," said Mary Austin, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Mizzou. "The men's and women's golf teams will finally have their own facility in place. The state-of-the-art technology will not only help our student-athletes be more competitive, it will greatly benefit our recruiting process as well."

Construction on the new clubhouse began on Tuesday, February 5th and is projected for completion by mid-August. Tech Electronics will install the latest in fire and life safety systems from Honeywell and access control systems from Lenel for the 5,000 square foot facility. The new facility will house coaches' offices, team locker rooms, indoor heated hitting bays and the latest in swing instruction technology. The cost of the project is estimated at $1.357 million.

"The university has been an integral part of my life for 28 years and many employees at Tech Electronics are alumni," said John Pile, Director for Tech Electronics of Columbia. "We are so honored to be a part of this project. Making a difference for these young men and women is truly rewarding and will continue to drive Tech Electronics' support."

Tech Electronics has gifted in-kind more than $15,000 to Mizzou athletics to date. The company offers a full range of life safety and communications systems that provide an effective, high-quality educational experience and an environment that is safe for students, staff and the community.
